It is the struggle to repeat and perpetuate pleasure which turns it into pain. Where there is a search for pleasure there must be pain. Living in the present is the instant perception of beauty and the great delight in it without seeking pleasure from it.

Most of us walk through life inattentively, reacting unthinkingly according to the environment in which we have been brought up, and such reactions create only further bondage, further conditioning, but the moment you give your total attention to your conditioning you will see that you are free from the past completely, that it falls away from you naturally.

Truth is a pathless land. Man cannot come to it through any organization, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, not through any philosophical knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection.

Self acceptance marks the day when the opinions of other people don't control you anymore. It's the day you start making yourself heard when you don't agree. It's the minute you finally unlock your potential, become you, know that you've become you, and know that you are completely and gloriously your own person.

The appropriate response to bad deeds is pity for the perpetrators, since they have adopted unsound beliefs and are deprived of the most valuable human capacity: the ability to differentiate between what's truly good and bad for them. Whenever someone does something foolish, pity him rather than yield to hatred and anger as so many do.
